After years of hype around the BIG DATA word, recent trends evolution is showing the most effective and concrete value hidden within the data as well as tangible and practical use-cases.
AI – Artificial intelligence is exploding as the new disruptive technology You have to invest to Win in the future. However, on a closer inspection, AI is definitely not a new concept. What is really new is actually the huge amount of data that enables Deep Learning Neural Networks as well as Machine Learning algorithms to “be trained” like never before.
Similarly, we are getting used to talk to robots in our messaging applications. Once again, “chatbot” technology is definitely not “rocket science” but it takes advantage of NLP (Natural Language Processing) recent improvements based, just for a change, on gigantic data sources coming from online conversations, social networks and digital text analysed with modern data-science approach.
And these are just a few examples: we expect further progresses in the fields of Data Visualization, maybe leveraging new 360° and immersive technologies, as well as in the Data-Driven Policy-Making and agent-based model simulations.
In this dynamic framework, full of uncertainty and where today’s discoveries destroy the beliefs of the past, the ingredients of the recipe of success are still the same:

/ An open agile approach (made of iterative validation cycles).

/ Team perspective (upon solitary work).
/ A bits-on & hands-on state of mind that leverages the learn-by-doing through real data and real business challenges.
All these facts are the reason why, after 5 successful editions, BIG DIVE is still an effective opportunity and a valuable chance for wannabe data scientists, data-driven developers and data-driven designers to upgrade their skills and to DIVE in the “DATA ocean”.
To quote the Diver Jonas Liechti: “Everybody who would like to swim in the ocean of data should go to BIG DIVE. Because if you do not want to drown you’d better learn how to ‘dive’.”

To our valuable Data Sponsors we ask for a money contribution (4,500€ – LARGE CORPORATE or 2,500€ – SME & STARTUP) but most of all for a “BIG” dataset and a real challenge.
Our students will work on that and all the code, algorithms and data visualizations will be the main return for the sponsor as well as strong visibility on our communication channels. An NDA will guarantee a safe access to data.

To our valuable Gold or Silver sponsors we ask for a money contribution (+3,000€ – GOLD or 2,000€ – SILVER) in exchange for strong visibility on all our communication channels
